About Us
Templeton Ford is a RIBA Chartered architecture and interiors studio led by Andre and Jessica Templeton Ford. Based in London and Sussex, we work throughout the UK, creating distinctive homes and buildings that are deeply rooted in their landscape, history and culture.
We believe the most successful architecture feels as though it belongs. Rather than pursuing novelty for its own sake, we seek to create buildings that are shaped by their setting, informed by local traditions, and enriched by the character of the places in which they stand. Every project begins with a careful understanding of its site, its landscape, history, light and patterns of occupation, allowing architecture to emerge that feels both contemporary and deeply rooted.
Our work draws inspiration from vernacular architecture, craftsmanship and the enduring qualities of natural materials. Natural materials possess a richness that cannot be manufactured. Their texture, depth and patina evolve over time, giving buildings a character that deepens with age. We believe architecture should do the same, becoming more beautiful, more generous and more meaningful through years of use.
We are interested in creating buildings that feel contemporary without feeling transient. Rather than reproducing historic forms, we reinterpret the qualities that have made traditional buildings so enduring, balancing innovation with continuity and creating architecture that feels rooted rather than nostalgic.
We see architecture, interiors and landscape as inseparable disciplines. Every aspect of a project, from the overall form of a building to the design of a staircase, a piece of joinery or the selection of materials, contributes to a coherent whole. Our buildings are designed not only to be admired, but to support everyday life through spaces that are calm, intuitive and a pleasure to inhabit.
Alongside a strong design ethos, we place great importance on technical rigour and thoughtful collaboration. We work closely with our clients, consultants and craftspeople throughout the design and construction process, combining modern methods of construction with enduring materials and traditional craftsmanship. For us, innovation is never an end in itself, but a means of creating buildings of lasting quality.
Our ambition is simple: to design buildings that feel inseparable from their place, reward everyday life, and become more cherished with each passing year.
We are currently accepting new commissions and would be delighted to discuss your project.
